Meet the CV expert: Tom O’Neil

Tom O’Neil is an award-winning keynote speaker and international careers and personal development author. His work has appeared in the Harvard Business Review, The Economist, TVNZ and TV3, and he writes as a business and careers columnist for the NZ Herald.

Tom is the author of The 1% Principle, published through Harper Collins across multiple countries. The book ranked in Amazon’s top five business books and reached the top 21 bestsellers on Amazon.co.uk.

With a degree majoring in social and perceptual psychology, Tom built and sold two successful recruitment consultancies before moving into HR consulting roles with organisations including Sovereign Assurance, South Auckland Health and Auckland City, and working as a Management Consultant at Deloitte, specialising in HR.

Alongside his professional career, Tom has completed community support work in the Philippines and India. As Managing Director of CV.CO.NZ he has spent more than a decade helping thousands of clients across 50+ countries reach their potential.
